Brief Biography
Director of Drug Discovery and GLP Studies
Dr. Farhad Karbassi is an expert in GLP research and pre-clinical drug development. Throughout his career, Dr. Karbassi has held roles at esteemed institutions, including the National Research Council of Canada (NRC), McGill University, and the Keenan Research Centre at St. Michael’s Hospital. He has also led positions within innovative start-up companies.
Currently serving as Director of Drug Discovery and GLP Studies at CREM Co Labs, Dr. Karbassi has established the Zebrafish Centre for Drug Discovery, the first Contract Research Organization (CRO) to utilize zebrafish embryos/larvae for drug screening. He has been involved in driving drug discovery projects, targeting a range of diseases. Many of these endeavors have been conducted in close collaboration with several biotech and pharmaceutical companies across North America.
