On Sep 25, 2025, Dr. Bahram Zargar, CEO & Co-founder of CREM Co Labs, along with Dr. Nahid Rahimifard (Director of Regulatory Affairs) and Dr. Matthew Lefebre (Director of Molecular Biology), had the pleasure of visiting the Hans Dairy facility in Mississauga, Ontario. We met with key members of the Hans Dairy leadership, including:

- Mandeep Hans – Director of Marketing at Hans Dairy
- Jayesh Patel – Senior Plant Operations Manager
It was a productive visit that allowed us to see firsthand how Hans Dairy operates and maintains its standards.

We were thoroughly impressed by the level of professionalism and the stringent quality control measures in place at the Hans Dairy facility. During our visit, we had a great conversation about how CREM Co Labs, as a research center, can assist Hans Dairy in addressing complex scientific challenges. Hans Dairy is a proudly Canadian company with a remarkable family legacy. It was founded in 1997 by Mr. Gurdarshan Hans and his wife Mrs. Joginder Hans, who started the business from humble beginnings. In the early days, Mr. Hans personally delivered fresh milk to local homes and businesses – effectively a door-to-door milk service – to fulfill the needs of the South Asian community in the Greater Toronto Area. This hands-on approach helped Hans Dairy build a loyal customer base by providing authentic Indian-style dairy products that were hard to find in Canada at the time.
With the support of his family, Gurdarshan Hans steadily grew the company. His two daughters, Sarab and Mandeep, eventually took on leadership roles and brought new energy and ideas into the business. Under their management, Hans Dairy expanded its product line beyond just milk to include traditional favorites like yogurt (dahi), yogurt-based drinks (lassi), clarified butter (makhan), and rice pudding (kheer), all made with an emphasis on authentic taste and high quality. This family-driven expansion propelled Hans Dairy to new heights. Today, Hans Dairy has grown and diversified to become one of Canada’s premier dairy manufacturers catering to South Asian tastes and beyon. In fact, it is now recognized as one of the largest Ontario-based dairy businesses specializing in South Asian dairy products.
